Earning Today’s Hours

As I alluded to earlier when I announced that we would not be having class today, you will still be able to earn the two hours of attendance credit for class today.  Here are the details on how to do that.

Look over the Sentence Materials I posted recently.  Then visit some of these websites that discuss various aspects of sentences and clauses.  Write a two-paragraph explanation of what you have learned, in particular about the difference between independent clauses and dependent clauses.  Post your paragraphs here as a comment.  Work posted by 5pm tomorrow, Thursday, October 22, will count for the two hours of attendance for today.

Class Canceled Wednesday, 10/21

As I mentioned in the email I sent out this morning, I’m am home sick today (sore throat, stuffy nose), so class is canceled today.  I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, especially if you found yourself driving to campus in poor weather this morning.

This will, of course, force us to make some changes to our schedule.  Check back here later today for more details.  But for now I can tell you this: We will still write Essay 4 in-class on Monday, October 26.  We will move today’s discussion of sentences to next Wednesday, October 28.

Later today I will post an exercise for you to do to earn today’s attendance hours, and another for this week’s participation credit.

As always, feel free to email me if you have any questions.  I will see you Monday.
